Thornton Boot Campers Just Do It

Hey There Fit Soldiers.

Amazing weekend as they all should be.  Yes even with minus one hour of sleep.  I was out for my long run just yesterday and as the weather is warming a lot more people are jumping out and onto the trail to get active.  Early into my run I passed a woman wearing a good ol vintage Nike shirt.  "Just Do It."  It may seem like I am getting a kick back from Nike right now but despite my enormous following I don't think I quite make the cut...  If only they knew what they were missing... haha right.

But seriously Nike has an enormous impact on just about every sport and even more lives than athletes.  With that as time passes it is easy for us to see these once motivational tag lines and slogans and let them blow by.

As I mentioned, I passed this woman early in my short 10 miles  so that gave me a lot of time to process those three little words.  Just Do It.  It got me thinking about all the excuses I hear from so many people in regards to EVERYTHING.

"I couldn't clean the house because..."
"I had to get fast food because..."
"I was going to get out side for a jog but..."

The list is endless.  I believe we could truly create an endless list.  If everyone came in and wrote one excuse down on the board, how long would it take for us to repeat begin to repeat.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like we come up with more and more excuses as the days, months, and years go by.  Suddenly it is never your fault but somebody else.  Always pointing the finger.  Never taking inventory on what's actually going on inside but blame shifting to feel better about ourselves and giving us something to complain about.

Let's cut it out.  Take accountability.  Take Action. Take Ownership of your fitness goals, your nutritional habits and lifestyle.  Make someone hold you accountable.  Have integrity.  When you say you're going to do something.  JUST DO IT.
